Recently, the BBC World has been spotlighting stories of migrants on their way to Europe. The map to the left illustrates one man’s journey. In order to read his story, which included several attempts (a normal occurrence), click here. (Not to belittle anyone’s geography knowledge, but just for the record, the Canary Islands are a part of Spain and thus Europe. A migrant can apply for asylum across the EU from there.) A second article documents abuse accusations (concerning migrants) against the Italian and Libyan governments. It can be read here. While neither of these stories are about Greece specifically, both are typical of the journey and treatment of migrants – especially African migrants. Please continue to be in prayer not only for us but also the migrants who are risking life and limb for a new opportunity; pray that many will find a new hope and peace in Christ that transcends all of life’s uncertainties.
