Amazing Grace

Kristin and I saw the movie “Amazing Grace” this weekend in Springfield. It’s a beautiful story of faith and perseverance in the face of injustice and evil. It reminds me that the church – not as an institution, but as the believing community living the message of Jesus – can change the world. This video is another story about the church being the church, the very hands and feet of Jesus. It is our call, as the church, to love the overlooked, to protect the vulnerable, and to care for those who hate us. Straton, the man in the video, is a pastor loving the overlooked (in his context, those with HIV/AIDS) in Rwanda.
