A teammate of ours here in Athens was blessed by a supporter with a new motorcycle; He, in turn, blessed us with his old one. That’s right, I’m now the proud owner of a ten year old motorbike. I’m not sure of the exact classification for it: to call it a motorcycle seems deceptive, although it is not exactly a scooter. It’s small – about the size of a ten speed bike. Despite this, it has enough punch to get around (it’s 100cc and can cruise at 50 or 60 mph). Some advantages:
1. It cuts my commute in half!
2. It runs on pocket lint (not exactly, but I can fill the tank for about 3 Euros).
3. I don’t have to wait in the long lines of traffic (we have special bikes lanes for motorbikes).
4. Man, do I look cool!
And, yes, mom, I’m wear my helmet and drive carefully! Below is a picture of a similar bike, but it isn’t mine exactly. Hopefully I’ll include a picture on Friday! Have a great week! Kristin’s parents are in town for two more days, so we’re headed to the beach today.
