I am often surprised how many people will wait in a cramped line for nearly an hour to take two hard-boiled eggs, an Arabic pita, a small fruit, and a small pack of olives and peppers. Obviously, this speaks to the great need of those who will wait in such unpleasant conditions. I cannot relate to such hunger or such helplessness (i.e. not having access to other means of nourishment). Everyday I acknowledge how meager a meal we really serve, and simply pray for God’s grace to provide where this meal cannot.
