As a team, we’ve been re-working our ministry vision and mission statements this fall. It’s taken a lot of time, prayer, poking, and prodding, but – after three months – we’ve got a finished product. We going for simple and memorable, rather than comprehensive. At the end of the day, this is what we want to see happen here: LIVES TRANSFORMED BY THE GRACE OF GOD! Our vision (what we want to see happen):
Lives Transformed: planting gospel seeds in the lives of refugees across Greece that take root and bear the fruit of life transformation in Jesus Christ.
Being a part of God’s working of salvation and transformation in the lives of refugees: this is what stirs our passions; this is what gets us out of bed in the morning; this is what drives us to give, to serve, and to sacrifice! Our mission, then, is what we do in order to accomplish this vision. Our mission (what we do):
Reveal Jesus to refugees by demonstrating and proclaiming the gospel across Greece.
As Paul told the church in Corinth, “So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth” (1 Cor. 3:7). We cannot generate life change. We are helpless to change hearts. But we plant and water seeds. We reveal who Jesus is. We live out His love and compassion. We speak His truth. And in all this, we simply pray that God be glorified and the name of Jesus be made great!
