We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His.
Our team had the privilege of participating in the baptisms of four refugee believers on Saturday. Each has his own testimony of God’s work in His life, but all point directly to the riches of God’s grace in Christ Jesus! It was an encouraging evening… again I’m thankful for the opportunity to be here and to be a part of God’s work among the nations. Thanks so much for sending us! Thanks for being a part of our ministry! Thanks for your ongoing support, encouragement, and prayers!
“O” decided to follow Christ nearly eight years earlier while in Iran. He was so excited to finally have an opportunity to be baptized! “S” – also Iranian – jumped as he came up out of the water and threw his hands up into the air as an act of praise. His joy was contagious! “G” is a young and zealous follower of Jesus from Afghanistan. He continues to grow in his faith… but please pray for him as he is living on the streets (not by choice, but because of lack of money/work). “A” – also from Afghanistan – had his life in Afghanistan stolen away by violence. His journey to Athens has been hard, but he now rejoices in God’s provision: “Now I know why God has brought me here!”
Please pray for these new brothers. Pray for a growing faith. Pray for courage and strength in the midst of persecution – as even some close family will likely never speak with them again! And please pray that they will becomes witnesses of God’s grace in Jesus to their own people. I am praying these men will become preachers, teachers, and church leaders for a great movement of the gospel among Afghans and Iranians!
