Putting yourself in someone else’s shoes can change everything.  Here are two great media resources to help put yourself in the shoes of a refugee.

1 – A friend connected me with this powerful, interactive “refugee experience” from The Guardian newspaper (UK): go ahead, put yourself in their shoes.  What would you do in these situations?  How would this change your story?

As EU governments have made it harder to seek refuge in Europe, the flow of refugees fleeing the world’s most desperate conflicts is increasing. We invite you to make the choices real refugees have to make and find out what it’s really like to look for safety in Fortress Europe.  Click here.
2 – Additionally, The Guardian has recently produced this short, poignant movie highlighting three stories of refugees caught between Turkey and Bulgaria.  Put yourself in their shoes:

Ps. 10:12, 16-18
Arise of LORD;
O God lift up your hand;
forget not the afflicted..

The Lord is King forever and ever;
the nations perish from his land.
O LORD, you hear the desire of the afflicted;
you will strengthen their heart;
you will incline your ear
to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed,
so that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.
