I challenge you to read Jihan’s story and put yourself in her shoes.  She is a Syrian refugee in Greece’s Lavrio Camp – a refugee camp outside of Athens.

LAVRION CAMP, Greece — Jihan is one of millions who have fled the violence in Syria. A mother of two, forced into exile. Like many, she escaped with her husband and children to Turkey, where they boarded a boat and risked everything during a treacherous journey to safety. Unlike most, she is blind. My heart breaks. I hope that you read Jihan’s story and join me in praying for her, her kids, and millions of other refugees like her. May they find refuge, rest, and peace. May the violence end, and may Jihan and others find an eternal refuge in God’s provision of His own Son.

 In you, O LORD, do I take refuge;

let me never be put to shame;

in your righteousness deliver me!

Incline your ear to me;

rescue me speedily!

Be a rock of refuge for me,

a strong fortress to save me!
